Blue-winged macaw / Primolius maraca

These macaws have a wide range from northern to southern Brazil, from Atlantic rainforest to Cerrado savanna.  However, they are in decline due to agricultural activities. Here they are eating mulungu flowers (Erythrina mulungu). In the background is the mountainous Atlantic rainforest which has been partially cleared by small farmers, causing erosion and soil impoverishment on the steep hillsides.
