These macaws are taking flight from a buriti palm (Mauritia flexuosa) where they have been roosting. They live on the tree’s fleshy nuts and nest there too. These palms support their life system and are less threatened with removal as luckily, they grow in undesirable marshy ground and humans use their leaves and nuts too.
